Now comes the general setup of your popup. In this section, you’ll configure the essential details that will be visible to your visitors. Follow these steps:

  1. Write a Popup Title – This is for your own reference inside the dashboard (e.g., Newsletter Signup).
  2. Set Form Fields – Choose which fields to display (Name, Email, Message) and decide if they should be required. For a subscription form, usually Email is required, while Name can be optional.
  3. Customize the Button Text – Choose a clear call-to-action, such as Subscribe Now or Join Free.
  4. Write a Popup Description – Add a short text that explains the value of subscribing

Next, we’ll set where and how the popup will appear.

First, choose the pages where you want the popup to display. You can either show it on all pages, exclude certain pages, or include it only on specific ones. This way, you have full control over where visitors see your popup.

After that, select the trigger that defines when the popup will appear. Popup Box provides multiple trigger options such as On Page Load, On Scroll, After X Seconds, Exit Intent, Inactivity and more. In this example, we’ll use the On Page Load trigger, which means the popup will appear right after the page loads.

Finally, decide on the popup’s position. You can display it in the center of the screen, in a corner, or in other strategic places. Always keep in mind that the popup should attract attention but not disturb the user’s browsing experience.

Settings Tab #

Now head to the Settings tab.
In the Settings tab, you can control when the popup appears and how it can be closed. For example, you may want to delay its appearance until 5 seconds after the page loads, which you can set with Open Delay.

You also have several closing options to choose from. The popup can automatically close after a set time, or you can allow visitors to dismiss it using a close button, by clicking outside the box, scrolling, or pressing the ESC key. This flexibility ensures that your popup feels natural and user-friendly.

Style Tab #

Now go to the Styles tab to customize the design of your popup so it matches your brand.

Popup Box offers both pre-made themes and full customization options. You can add a background color or image, adjust fonts and borders, and fine-tune spacing to make the popup blend seamlessly with your site’s look and feel.
Also, check the Mobile Width setting to be sure your popup looks great on smartphones and tablets. Popup Box is mobile-friendly by default, but these adjustments give you extra control over the visitor’s experience.

Limitation Users Tab #

Next, head to the Limitation Users tab to decide how often the popup should appear for each visitor.
This section helps you avoid showing the same popup too many times. For example, you can display it only once per session, once per user, or display for logged-in users.
