The Popup Box plugin can be integrated with GetResponse, a powerful email marketing and automation tool. With this connection, any visitor who submits their details (such as name and email) through your popup will be automatically added to your GetResponse contact list.
This helps you:
- Grow and manage your subscriber list.
- Send targeted email campaigns.
- Automate follow-ups and newsletters without manual effort.
Step 1: Navigate to Integration Settings #
- From your WordPress dashboard, go to Popup Box > General Settings > Integrations.
- Scroll down to find the GetResponse section.

Step 2: Create/Get Your GetResponse Account #
If you don’t already have a GetResponse account:
- Go to GetResponse Sign Up.
- Register for a free trial or choose a paid plan.
- Log in to access your GetResponse dashboard.
Step 3: Generate Your GetResponse API Key #
To connect Popup Box with GetResponse, you need an API Key.
- From the top navigation bar, go to Tools → Integrations and API.
- Open the API tab.
- Click Generate API Key.
- Give your key a name (e.g., PopupBox Integration) and copy the generated key.

Note: For security reasons, unused API keys expire after 90 days. If that happens, you’ll need to create a new one.
Step 4: Add the API Key to Popup Box #
- Return to your WordPress Dashboard → Popup Box > General Settings > Integrations tab.
- In the GetResponse API Key field, paste the API key you generated.
- Click Save Changes.

Step 5: Enable GetResponse for a Popup #
Once connected, you can assign GetResponse integration to any popup:
- Go to Popup Box > Popups and edit the popup you want.
- Make sure the Name and Email fields are enabled in your popup form.
- In the Integrations tab of that popup, enable GetResponse integration.
- Choose the GetResponse list where you want to collect new subscribers.
- Save your popup.

Step 6: Test the Integration #
- Open your popup on the frontend.
- Fill in your name and email, then submit the form.
- Log in to your GetResponse dashboard → Contacts/Lists or Search.
- Refresh the page and check that the new subscriber appears in the chosen list.

Best Practices #
- Always keep your API key secure and update it before expiration.
- Create separate GetResponse lists for different campaigns (newsletters, promotions, surveys).
- Use the required field option for the email field to avoid incomplete submissions.
- Test your popup integration before going live to ensure data is syncing correctly.
That’s it! Your Popup Box plugin is now integrated with GetResponse. Every submission through your popups will be automatically stored in your GetResponse list, helping you grow and manage your audience with ease.
