Organizing Popups with Categories

When you only have a few popups, it’s easy to manage them directly from the list. But as your website grows, you might create 20, 50, or even more popups. In that case, finding and managing a specific one can become time-consuming.
This is where Organizing Popups with Categories becomes essential. By grouping your popups by type, purpose, or campaign, you can keep your dashboard clean and easy to navigate. For example, you could create categories like Discounts, Newsletter, Announcements, or Product Promotions.

Creating a New Category #

So, the first step in organizing your popups is creating a new category.

Follow these steps to create one:
Step 1. From your WordPress Dashboard, go to Popup Box > Categories.
Step 2. Click the Add New button.

Step 3. Enter a Category Name. Optionally, you can also write a short description to better explain the purpose of this category.
For example, if you’re creating a category called “Discount Campaigns”, you could write:
“This category contains all popups related to seasonal sales, discount offers, and promotional campaigns.”
Step 4. Click the Save and Close button.
Your new category will now appear in the list of available categories.

Assigning Popup to a Category #

Once you’ve created categories, the next step is to assign your popups to them. This way, each popup is grouped under the right category, making it much easier to manage and find later, especially, if you have dozens of active popups.

Follow these steps:
Step 1. Go to Popup Box > Popups and select the popup you want to organize.
Step 2. Open the popup’s Settings tab and scroll down to the Advanced Settings section.
Step 3. Find the Popup Category dropdown and choose the category you created.
Step 4. Click Save to confirm your changes.

Checking Assigned Popups in the Dashboard #

Once you’ve assigned popups to categories, you can easily check which ones belong to each category.

Here’s how:
Step 1.
Go to the Categories tab in your WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2. Look next to each category name. You’ll see a number that shows how many popups are assigned to that category.
Step 3. Click on the number.
Step 4. You’ll be redirected to a page that displays all the popups assigned to that specific category. From here, you can easily find, review, and manage them.
