Popup Display Options

The Popup Display Options in the Popup Box plugin let you control where your popup will appear on your website.
These settings are found under the General Settings tab of each individual popup.

This feature helps you show the popup to the right audience at the right time, whether that’s across the entire site, excluding certain pages, or only on specific pages.

Step 1: Navigate to Display Options #

  1. From your WordPress Dashboard, go to Popup Box > Popups.
  2. Select the popup you want to edit or create a new one.
  3. Open the General Settings tab.
  4. Scroll down until you see the Display Options section.

Step 2: Choose a Display Rule #

You have three different ways to control where your popup will appear:

Display Options

1. All Pages #

  • Select “All Pages” if you want your popup to appear on every page of your website.
  • Best for global messages like announcements, discount banners, or cookie consent popups.

  • Select “Exclude” if you want your popup to appear on every page of your website.
  • You can exclude by:
    • Post Type – e.g., exclude all blog posts.
    • Posts – exclude specific pages or posts.
    • Post Categories – exclude whole categories (e.g., “Tutorials”).
    • Show on Home Page (checked) – the popup loads on the Home page as well, in addition to all the other pages allowed by your “Except” rules.

3. Include #

  • You can include by:
    • Post type – e.g., Posts, Pages, Media.

    • Post categories – target entire categories.
    • Show on Home page – the popup will be displayed on the homepage in addition to any other pages or posts you’ve selected.

Step 3: Save and Test #

  1. After choosing your display option, click Save Changes.
  2. Visit your site and browse different pages to check if the popup is appearing according to your rules.

Best Practices #

  • All Pages → use for site-wide alerts or universal offers.
  • Except → exclude important pages like Checkout or Contact to avoid disruption.
  • Include → perfect for targeted campaigns, like showing offers only on product or blog pages.

With Display Options, you gain full control over your popup visibility ensuring it’s shown only where it makes sense.
